Weight Plate Anchor Method

  1. Use 20kg standard weight plates as anchors
  2. Install eyebolts through center holes of weights
  3. Place large washers on both sides of the hole
  4. Secure with locking nuts on the underside
  5. Apply thread-locking compound for additional security

Installation Procedure

Step 1: Prepare Mast

  1. Connect the three 1.8m galvanized pipes using socket fittings
  2. Install end cap on top pipe
  3. Pre-mark the guy wire attachment point at 3.5m height

Step 2: Set Up Tripod

  1. Position tripod on level ground
  2. Extend all three legs to full 60-inch length
  3. Verify stable positioning and adjust if needed
  4. Secure legs in fully deployed position

Step 3: Install Mast Through Tripod

  1. Position the bottom of the mast where it will permanently rest on the ground
  2. Carefully feed the mast through the tripod hub until the mast base contacts the ground
  3. Ensure the tripod hub provides lateral support without lifting the mast off the ground
  4. Check vertical alignment with level tool
  5. Make adjustments as needed to ensure mast is vertical

Step 4: Set Up Weight Anchors

  1. Assemble weight plate anchors with eyebolts, washers, and nuts
  2. Position anchors approximately 2-3m from mast base at 120° intervals
  3. Ensure anchors are on stable, flat surfaces
  4. Orient eyebolts toward the mast for optimal pull direction

Step 5: Install Guy Wires

  1. Attach guy wires to the mast at the 3.5m mark
  2. Run wires to each weight plate anchor
  3. Install turnbuckles for tension adjustment
  4. Secure all connections with proper wire rope clips
  5. Adjust tension evenly across all three wires

Step 6: Final Adjustments

  1. Verify mast is perfectly vertical using level tool
  2. Fine-tune guy wire tension as needed
  3. Check all connections for security
  4. Apply anti-corrosion treatment to exposed metal if desired

Maintenance Considerations

Disassembly for Moving

  1. Loosen and remove guy wires
  2. Disassemble weight plate anchors
  3. Lower mast from tripod
  4. Fold tripod legs
  5. Disconnect pipe sections if needed for transport
